Out & About

We made our first outing as a family on Wednesday night to our Mosaic small group. I think everyone was a bit surprised, but we love our fellow 'Baconloaf-ers' (our unofficial small group name, based on one of Emily's specialties, Baconloaf) and we were going stir-crazy in the house. Max was surprisingly well behaved, eating during dinner and sleeping through the talking. It was a stress-relieving first experience with the car seat and feeding in 'public,' and we had a great time sharing him with our friends.

Today, Max had his first doctor's appointment. He left the hospital weighing 9 lbs even, and this morning he weighed in at 10 lbs 4 oz.! That is over a pound since Monday.... I think I am going to have to start lifting weights if I'm going to be able to haul his not-so-tiny heiny around in a car seat-or period. (Any tips, Darby?) Dr. Ramirez said that he is in perfect health and we go back, again, next week.

Tonight, if we are feeling really adventurous (OK, if I am feeling adventurous), we might accompany Dad to the mall for some new glasses. Clint might like the opportunity to 'play' with the infant carrier.

You don't have to lift weights b/c Max IS your weights! One good thing about having a big baby is that you get a workout everyday all day, and it helps to loose the pregnancy weight! I'm glad Eli grew out of his carseat at 6 mo. b/c I couldn't ever carry that thing for long...it was so heavy and akward. Oh, I can't wait to meet him!
